Agriculture strongly relies on irrigation. Department of Environmental Science Policy and Management, University of Berkeley United States reports irrigation land accounts for roughly 20% of the global cultivated area and contributes to about 40% of crop production.
At UTM Pagoh Campus Research Farm, the application of groundwater is used to areas in which irrigation from groundwater stock has increased efficiency and enhanced water sustainability in some water scare areas. Our research farm irrigation contributes to more reliable and resilient crop production with relatively good profitability.
